AI Intern – 6 months, full-time position (Kuala Lumpur)

Ad Terra is a Swiss-based geoscience & engineering consulting firm and renewable energy operator striving to unlock Earth’s boundless energy potential responsibly.

Tasks:

  • Data Collection and Cleaning: support gathering, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity, with a focus on oil and gas subsurface data.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Model Development: support the development and implementation of machine learning models and algorithms, gaining hands-on experience in the process.
  • Data Visualization: create visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate findings and insights.
  • Collaboration: work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives, learning from experienced professionals.
  • Documentation: document methodologies, processes, and findings to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
  • AI Initiatives: participate in Artificial Intelligence initiatives to perform log digitization and develop automated petrophysical workflows.
  • Support: collaborate with and support senior geoscientists and petroleum engineers as necessary, while developing your skills and knowledge in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Petroleum Engineering, with an appetite for data analysis.
  • Basic understanding of geological principles and field methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Technical Skills:
  1. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  2. Familiarity with data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  3. Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
  • Analytical Skills: strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Player: ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
